Checheli Lake

Checheli Lake is located in the Glubokoye district, Vitebsk region, only 3 km to the southeast, near the town Checheli. The area surrounding the lake, mostly flat, sometimes gryadisto hilly, sometimes covered with woodland and scrub. Around there are small forests, woods and forest plantations. In the west of the lake is bordered by a narrow marshy floodplain, covered with bog-meadow vegetation.

Lakeside are sand and clay, covered with scrub and woodland, marshy places. Shallow vast, sandy shores along the deeper clay-muddy bottom. The greatest depths are located in the central part of the lake, close to the southern shore.

The lake is inhabited by carp, tench, perch, roach, bream, pike and other fish, which allows commercial fishing. For tourists organized paid recreational fishing. On the shore of the lake in a beautiful pine forest is recreation "Checheli".
