Common minnow

Common minnow (Phoxinus phoxinus) — fish of the carp family (Cyprinidae). Has a wide torso, which is almost completely, except for the abdomen, covered with small scales. Colour - sand, motley, along the back is black band, white belly. During spawning minnow becomes iridescent colors.
Very moving fish that inhabit the many small rivers and streams in Belarus. They prefer areas with fast-flowing, cool spring water, with a sandy and rocky areas.
