Lake minnow

Lake minnow (Phoxinus perenurus) fish of the carp family. The body is thick, tall, with a small, slightly raised up, his mouth completely covered with scales. Pharyngeal teeth double row, slightly compressed laterally. The fins are relatively short, rounded at the top. The dorsal fin begins just behind the base of the ventral.
Typical habitats are heavily silted and overgrown ponds with abundance of brown humus water. In Belarus, home to a number of closed lakes and smaller bodies of water inundated the middle of the Dnieper basin occupies a small career, planters and other artificial water bodies created as a result of human economic activity.
