Ermine

Ermine (mustela erminea). Meets on all territory of Belarus and is a usual native kind of fauna. Habitats of an ermine are various. Often it is overgrown with a high grass and a bush meadows of the rivers and lakes and also coastal sites of the various anthropogenous reservoirs, boggy sites of the forest, suburb of bogs, forest marges, waste grounds and dumps near the human settlements, roadside tree-planting, sometimes economic constructions with gardens adjoining to them and vegetable gardens. The area of the hunting site of an ermine usually makes 7 - 15 hectares. The fur of an ermine is valuable. However the craft of an ermine in Belarus is insufficiently developed, therefore dynamics of its population is defined with natural factors: fodder conditions, illnesses, etc.
