Quantitative ultrasonic densitometry

Quantitative ultrasonic densitometry — a method of definition of a condition of bones on speed of passage of ultrasonic waves and their absorption by a bone fabric. The ultrasonic densitometry is a method of early diagnostics of an osteoporosis, It is applied only to peripheral departments of a skeleton (basically a calcaneal bone), as the divergence of indicators because of variability of structure of a bone of vertebras and a femur neck is observed. The ultrasonic densitometry allows to allocate risk factor and is characterized by absence of beam loading on the patient.
