Racoon dog

Raccoon dog (nyctereutes procyonoides). The Natural area of this animal is in the south of the Far East. From here it has been settled on the most part of Europe and in some areas of Asia. During the period of 1936-1953 on the territory of Belarus 350 raccoon dogs were let out. They have been well accustomed, multiplied and settled almost on all territory of Belarus. At a choice of a habitat raccoon dogs prefer the biotopes that are nearby the water, bogs and adjoining to them wood biotopes. Its modern number makes 8,5 thousands of individuals. The number of a raccoon dog is strongly limited because of its excessive craft.
