Rock dove

Rock dove (columba livia). It is very similar to the half-civilized city pigeon. White uropygium, two black strips on wings, other part of a body is grey. The rock dove can be met in Europe, Asia, Northern Africa, Japan, in the south of China, Sri Lanka, Burma, India, Senegal, on Arabian peninsula. Initially wild rock dove is a bird of the open spaces; it lodges in colonies, and nests on rocks, in holes and niches on rocky and steep coast of the rivers. It gets into settlements, willingly occupies the centers of cities where the city pigeon usually lodges. In Belarus it is widely widespread in settlements; all in our country lives more than 1 million pairs.
